Admin Control Panel
The forum system makes use of phpBB 3.3 and is highly configurable. You can tune, adjust, or turn off almost all features. To make this load of settings as accessible as possible, the Administration Control Panel (ACP) has been completely redesigned.
There are two ways of accessing the Administrator Control Panel (ACP from now on), provided you have an account with administrator privileges.
At the top of the page, beneath the banner, in the "Quick links" section, you will see an ACP link - Click on ACP.
Alternatively, at the very bottom of the page, click on the Administration Control Panel link.
Even though you are already logged in, you will be asked to enter your username and password again, and then click on the Login button.
The ACP has up to eight different sections with each containing a number of subsections. Please note, that according to your plan, some sections may not be available to you. We will discuss each section in this Admin Guide.
As Forums.Group is a managed platform, you do not have access to all the admin features available that ou would see if you setup the forum by yourself. That is by design as someone used to running a YahooGroup doed not need to be overwhelmed by the large learning curve needed to technically setup and manage a phpBB forum. We handle the technical side so that the new owner/moserator can focus on running their group. We have carefully tailored the administration down to commands the group admin can understand and operate, we handle the setting up, backups, updates and the range of other technical issues.
The Administration Control Panel Index, the home of managing your phpBB board. Administration functions are grouped into eight different categories: General, Forums, Posting, Users and Groups, Permissions, Maintenance, System and Extensions. Each category is a tab located at the top of the page. Specific functions of the category you're in can be found in the left-hand sidebar of each page.
