Step 4 - Members
If you are migrating from Yahoo Groups or another service, this is where you can submit your list of members to import into the forum.
If you want to start a forum without importing members from another source, you can skip this step.
Upload the Members List from Yahoo Groups, etc.
A forum or group lives from its members. Without them, the group owners and moderators would be talking to themselves. You need to prepare a list of your members in an Excel file (or csv comma delimited text file) and submit it to us. We can then upload the complete members list for you (direct add).
Most forum and mailing list systems will allow you to export their membership list in Excel or csv format. We will take the information you give us and try to add it all to your forum mebership list. We can import the following information on each member:
Username = The name or pseudonym that the member wants to be identified with. This is shown to all members and publicly, if you have an open forum.
Email address = The members email address. Unlike on YahooGroups and some other services, this is not disclosed to other members or the public.
Start Date = The date the member joined your group. This can be in European (DD/MM/YYYY) ur US (MM/DD/YYYY) format.
Unless you have a group of 1000 or less members, Yahoo Groups do not make it easy to download the complete memberlist. Fortunately, we have worked out a procedure for obtaining the complete member list from them, even if your group had thousands of members. Click here to learn how to properly download the list.
As checking and uploading the user list is a manual task, we make a one-time charge of 20 Euros for uploading your members and inviting them to join. Once the members are installed on the forum and you are ready to start, we will send them all an email with login instructions and passwords.
Once you have prepared your member data in an Excel or comma delimited csv file, first add the 20 Euro charge to the cart by pressing the cart button. Then fill in the form and attach the Excel or csv file containing the members list
Note: You can add the forum structure data in a separate tab of the same Excel file.
Options
Bulk Add YahooGroup Members to your forum. This requires the owner or moderator of the original group to download the membership list and provide it to us in Excel format. We provide instructions and a video on how to do this. We will then process and upload the members list to the forum and send them each an email with login instructions.
